What is up with all these movies being released that are based from video games. Are movie makers out of ideas?

There are 3 video game based movies coming out; Doom, Half-life, and in 2007 Halo the movie will be coming out.

It is fine that they are doing it but they will strip the meaning of the games by putting them in movies. It just won't have the same feel, like Resident Evil.

Hollyweed is completly run out of ideas.

All comedys & romance movies are remakes or recycled. All action is based off a video game or comic book. All drams go un-noticed liked they always did anyway.

Remember the first few movies based on video games?

Super Mario - State of the art CGI that was set to blow everyone away. Pretty shitty graphics when ya watch it now.

Double Dragon - What it had to do with the game is beyond me.

Mortal Kombat - It was ok, but the sequel sucked major balls and ass and swallowed every last drop of crap.

I'm still waiting for Tetris to hit the big screen. Thats be cool.

Silent Hill now as well.

I'm afraid Hollywood has totally sold out lately,... not only are they making films based on video games but they're remaking loads of classic films that were fantastic when they were made and still work today but no,... remake them, easy money.

Bastards.

Italian Job and Lady Killers to name just two. If they start on Arsonic and Old Lace or Harvey I might just kill myself.

heck, the most "original" idea i heard about was the set up of the Bewitched movie, it was a movie in a movie so to speak, you see, in the Bewitched movie, Will Ferrel's character is sent out to find a person to play as Samantha in a (fictional) movie version of the show, Nicole Kidman oddly like Elizabeth Montgomery, has the rare ability to twitch her nose.
