I was in a bookstore a few days ago, and up at the register, they had these bookmark things with charms on them. I had to look and see how much they cost, and they were $5.95! I thought back about when I had last used a even just a regular bookmark; it would probably be in grade school or Jr.High/Middle School at the latest, that the teachers would've given you. I've pretty much grabbed a piece of paper, ripped off paper towel, or even used a (clean of course!) piece of toilet paper.

There's nothing wrong with getting some colorful/pretty things to decorate, but paying almost $6 (well, a little over that with sales tax) to mark a place in a book seems a little unneccesary. What other stuff do you think is not worth buying?

I've heard people say that watches all do the same thing - tell time, which would make paying a lot for one useless. Buying the latest, most high-tech, and expensive TV and updating it all the time always seemed like a waste to me, since it doesn't make the shows on or movies you can play any different.

I always rip out the paper tags they have stuck to the library book that they stamp the return date onto and use that as a bookmark.

Tho they seem to have caught onto that now as they stopped using those and scan a bar code and hand you a receipt, which i can use as a bookmark or toilet paper. But If I lose that I rip one of the pages out of the book and use that too.

The one that shits me if crack houses will give heroin addicts free syringes here, supply them with a safe place to use them with dispenser units to keep them from throwing the syringes on the beaches or children playgrounds etc... which you can see the point of... but it's just fucked up they will not give free syringes to diabetics or those who need insulin everyday.
