I was in a bookstore a few days ago, and up at the register, they had these bookmark things with charms on them. I had to look and see how much they cost, and they were $5.95! I thought back about when I had last used a even just a regular bookmark; it would probably be in grade school or Jr.High/Middle School at the latest, that the teachers would've given you. I've pretty much grabbed a piece of paper, ripped off paper towel, or even used a (clean of course!) piece of toilet paper.
There's nothing wrong with getting some colorful/pretty things to decorate, but paying almost $6 (well, a little over that with sales tax) to mark a place in a book seems a little unneccesary. What other stuff do you think is not worth buying?
I've heard people say that watches all do the same thing - tell time, which would make paying a lot for one useless. Buying the latest, most high-tech, and expensive TV and updating it all the time always seemed like a waste to me, since it doesn't make the shows on or movies you can play any different. |
